AI hardware and robotics freight

Your robot ships before your logistics hire does. Quote the crate, book the pallet, let your agent do the rest.

Warp moves the physical side of AI companies: humanoid and mobile robots to pilot sites, dev kits and sensor rigs to customers, GPU servers between labs and data centers, demo units to trade shows and repairs back to the shop. Per-pallet pricing with no contract, inbound ocean and air from Taiwan and Shenzhen, and a freight API and MCP server so the same agent that runs your ops can book the truck.

Per-pallet pricing fits a company that does not have a lane yet

Robotics and AI hardware freight does not look like freight programs are designed for.

One week it is a 400 lb crated humanoid from Sunnyvale to a pilot site in Dallas, the next it is two pallets of dev kits from Fremont to a customer in Austin, then a single 8-GPU server back from a colocation cage for a board swap.

Class-based LTL tariffs price each of those as a classification argument, and contract programs want a volume commitment.

Warp prices by the pallet, all in: pickup, line haul, delivery, fuel, liftgate, delivery appointment and limited access at $0.

The Fremont to Austin pair of 500 lb pallets priced at $701 6-day and the Sunnyvale to Dallas robot crate at $347 4-day as of October 2026, both quoted keyless in under 10 seconds.

There is no contract, so the hundredth shipment costs the same way the first one did.

Density, shock and lithium decide the shipment, not the robot

Three things decide how a robot or a server travels.

Density: a humanoid shipped upright in a 48 by 40 by 72 inch crate at 400 lb is 5 lb per cubic foot and classes like air; the same robot supine in a foam-cut case at 72 by 30 by 22 inches is 12.7 lb per cubic foot and classes six bands lower.

Shock: handling at the two ends damages actuators, drives and GPU trays long before the road does, so the crate rides a shock pallet with isolators and tilt indicators.

Lithium: packs above the excepted threshold are class 9 hazardous materials, and Warp does not ship hazmat on any mode, so the pack ships separately through a hazmat carrier while the robot rides Warp LTL.

The how-to-ship guides for humanoid robots, drones and GPU servers below carry the class math, the packaging spec and the accessorials for each.

The agent that runs your ops can run your freight

AI-native companies do not want a freight portal. They want the thing their agent already uses.

Warp publishes an MCP server that quotes, books, tracks, pulls the BOL and proof of delivery and audits the invoice, and a REST freight API with keyless quoting and keys that issue at signup with no card.

A Claude Code or Cursor session, a Ramp-style purchasing agent or a script in your own stack can quote the crate, book the pickup, watch the GPS and file the POD without a person opening a browser.

Warp was the first freight network to ship an MCP server that books real freight, and the agent test on /ai-native-freight-company shows how far each freight company's agent door goes.

Robots and dev kits to pilot sites and customers

Use Warp for the crated humanoid to a pilot home, the mobile robot to a warehouse trial, the four sensor rigs to a university lab.

Each books by the pallet with liftgate, appointment and limited-access included, inside delivery and a second person when the unit has to reach the floor, and live GPS so the customer success lead knows when the crate arrives.

Returns for repair ride the same way back.

GPU servers and compute between labs, colos and data centers

Use Warp for the 8-GPU server from Santa Clara to an Austin colocation cage, the populated rack to Ashburn, the dev node back for a board swap.

Crated on a shock pallet, insured to declared value, delivered inside to the cage with a second person. The data center freight page covers full buildouts and the Taiwan ODM inbound lanes.

Inbound parts from Taiwan and Shenzhen, demo units to shows

Use Warp ocean and air for the actuator, sensor and board shipments from Taiwan and Shenzhen, drayage from the port, and LTL from the cross-dock to your shop.

Demo units to a conference ride as a dated, appointment-set LTL with limited-access delivery to the convention center included, and the return booking is one more call.

Frequently asked questions

Can a robotics startup ship on Warp without a contract or a sales call?

Yes. Warp prices by the pallet with no contract, no minimum and no sales call.

Enter the origin, destination, crate dimensions and weight, get an all-inclusive rate in about 10 seconds, and book with a card.

The Sunnyvale to Dallas crated-robot example priced at $347 4-day as of October 2026. Repeat shipments reuse the saved details.

How do I ship a humanoid robot?

Ship it supine in a foam-cut case or crate on a shock pallet rather than upright, pull any lithium pack above the excepted threshold and ship the pack separately as hazmat, and book inside delivery with a second person if the unit has to reach a floor rather than a dock.

A 70 kg humanoid lands at 350 to 450 lb cased, which is class 85 lying flat and class 175 upright. The full guide is at /tools/how-to-ship/humanoid-robots.

Does Warp ship lithium batteries with the robot or drone?

No. Lithium batteries above the excepted quantity threshold are class 9 hazardous materials and Warp does not ship hazmat on any mode.

Remove the pack, ship it through a hazmat-certified carrier, and ship the robot, drone or server on Warp.

Small packs within the excepted threshold, such as most consumer drone batteries under 100 Wh, can stay in the case when packed and marked to the regulation.

How do I insure a $300,000 GPU server in transit?

Every Warp shipment carries standard carrier liability plus a $75K FMCSA surety bond at no charge.

For a GPU server or a populated rack, add cargo insurance at booking: declare the value, up to $1M per shipment, and the certificate issues instantly with the premium shown before you confirm.

Crate the server on a shock pallet with tilt and shock indicators so a claim, if one ever happens, has evidence.

Can our AI agent book the freight instead of a person?

Yes. The Warp MCP server connects to Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT and any MCP client and exposes quote, book, track, BOL, proof of delivery and invoice audit tools.

The REST freight API quotes keyless and issues keys at signup with no card; the card is only needed to book.

An agent can quote the crate, book the pickup, poll the GPS and file the POD without anyone opening a browser.

Does Warp handle inbound parts from Taiwan and Shenzhen?

Yes.

Warp quotes ocean FCL and LCL and air freight from Taiwan, China, Vietnam, Korea and 193 countries in all with dated prices on the lane pages, handles the drayage from the US port, and moves the freight from the cross-dock to your shop on its own LTL and truckload network.

The Taiwan hub page carries the current 40-foot and LCL figures to each US gateway.

What does it cost to ship a pallet of dev kits across the country?

A 500 lb, 48 by 40 by 48 inch pallet from Fremont to Austin priced at $350 per pallet, two pallets for $701 6-day, as of October 2026, all inclusive with liftgate, delivery appointment and limited access at $0.

Price depends on the lane, the weight and the dimensions, so enter yours for an exact rate.

Can Warp deliver a demo unit to a trade show or a conference?

Yes. Convention centers are limited-access deliveries, which Warp includes in the per-pallet rate, and the delivery appointment is set at booking.

Book the inbound a week out with the show's move-in window as the delivery date, and book the return the same way with the move-out window as the pickup date.

14,000+vans & box trucks
24,000+vetted FTL carriers

Warp is the open source freight network: the tech is free and the network is open. We run Warp LTL, our own carrier, Warp FTL, cargo van, box truck and fulfillment ourselves, with every major LTL carrier, parcel, ocean, air and drayage plugged in beside them. Our driver app rides on every truck and our warehouse app runs every cross-dock, so an open network of 38,000+ carriers behaves like one carrier you control. Warp is licensed by the FMCSA as a property broker and freight forwarder, and runs the network itself: instant rates, live tracking, 70+ cross-dock facilities, 14,000+ cargo vans and box trucks, 80%+ US LTL zip-to-zip coverage and nationwide FTL, box truck and cargo van.

The network is supported by 24,000+ vetted FTL carriers.

Unlike traditional brokers, Warp uses AI to match the right vehicle to every load based on weight, dimensions, urgency, and cost targets. Cross-dock operations reduce transit time by eliminating unnecessary terminal transfers.

Pool distribution and zone-skipping programs help enterprise shippers lower per-unit delivery costs while maintaining tight appointment windows.

Self-serve shippers can quote, compare, and book freight online in under two minutes. Enterprise accounts get dedicated capacity planning, committed rate programs, and a named operations team. Every shipment includes scan-level visibility from pickup through final delivery.

Warp operates across the contiguous United States with regional density in the Southeast, Texas, Midwest, and Northeast corridors, and West Coast and Southwest coverage from Los Angeles, Seattle and Phoenix.

Warp operates 70+ cross-dock facilities across the US, with named markets including Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, New York, Savannah, Orlando, Charlotte, Indianapolis, Columbus, Denver, New Orleans, Milwaukee, Dallas-Fort Worth, Nashville, Phoenix, Tampa Bay, Seattle, Los Angeles. They support faster transfers and fewer touches on recurring lanes.

LTLPer-palletShared trailerLower per-pallet cost via cross-dock routing
Dry van / FTL42,000+ lbsFull 53-ft trailerHigh-volume lanes, recurring programs

Cargo vans handle loads up to 3,500 pounds and 400 cubic feet, ideal for time-sensitive deliveries, last-mile retail replenishment, and lightweight palletized freight.

Box trucks carry up to 10,000 pounds and 1,500 cubic feet, fitting most regional distribution and store delivery needs without requiring a loading dock.

Dry vans and full truckloads move 42,000+ pounds for high-volume lanes and recurring programs. LTL shipments share trailer space on optimized routes through Warp cross-docks, reducing per-pallet cost by consolidating multiple shippers on the same vehicle.

Warp does not default every shipment to a 53-foot trailer. The AI engine evaluates load weight, cube, delivery window, and cost to recommend the right vehicle. Shippers see all available mode options with live pricing in one comparison screen before booking.

Cross-dock operations

Cross-docking at Warp facilities keeps freight moving instead of storing it: inbound freight is sorted and transferred directly to outbound vehicles, typically within hours. When inventory does need to sit, Warp's fulfillment centers in Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago and New Jersey hold it inside the same network, with same day delivery within 30 miles of each.

This reduces dwell time, lowers damage risk, and compresses delivery windows. Warp cross-docks support pallet-in, pallet-out operations with scan-level tracking at every handoff point.

  • Atlanta — Southeast retail flow
  • Chicago — Midwest manufacturing and replenishment
  • Houston — Texas industrial distribution
  • New York — dense Northeast delivery

Facility locations are selected for corridor density: Atlanta handles Southeast retail flow, Chicago serves Midwest manufacturing and replenishment, Houston covers Texas industrial distribution, and New York supports dense Northeast delivery. Each facility operates on appointment-based scheduling to prevent congestion and maintain throughput consistency.

Enterprise freight programs

Enterprise shippers get committed rate programs, dedicated account management, and custom SLA design. Warp builds lane-by-lane rate structures that account for volume commitments, seasonal variation, and mode flexibility. Operations teams monitor shipment execution daily and intervene proactively when exceptions occur.

Self-serve freight quoting

Shippers enter origin and destination, load details, and delivery requirements to see live rates across all available modes. Quotes include estimated transit time, vehicle type, and total cost.

Booking takes one click. After booking, shippers track every shipment with real-time GPS location, milestone updates, and proof of delivery documentation.

Industries and use cases

Retail shippers use Warp for store replenishment programs that deliver to hundreds of locations per week on tight appointment windows. Apparel brands use zone skipping to bypass regional parcel sortation and reduce per-unit delivery cost.

Food and beverage companies rely on time-definite delivery for perishable goods. Manufacturing operations use Warp for inbound vendor consolidation, combining multiple supplier shipments into fewer, fuller loads through cross-dock facilities.

Distribution companies use pool distribution to serve multiple delivery points from a single origin, splitting full truckloads at cross-docks into smaller last-mile vehicles.

Urgent freight recovery covers emergency capacity needs when primary carriers fail or demand spikes unexpectedly. Middle-mile optimization reduces cost and transit time on the longest segment of multi-leg shipments.
