Distributor corridor · Grocery

Grocery distributor freight to Indian, Asian and Middle Eastern markets at the freight price.

The markets are in strip malls with a back door and no dock, they take one to three pallets a week, and every legacy tariff bills that delivery three times: liftgate, appointment, limited access. On Warp all three are $0, the truck is a 26 ft box truck with a liftgate, and the pallet is priced in 10 seconds. From live Warp LTL rates, one pallet from Edison to a Dallas market is $253.59 with 4 day transit, liftgate and appointment included, as of September 16, 2026.

Priced lanes from Edison and the Newark corridor

11 market cities, one pallet, all inclusive, as of September 16, 2026.

Edison is where the East Coast distributors sit, and the stores they replenish are in Frisco and Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Charlotte, Orlando, Jersey City.

The Warp number is the invoice: the liftgate at a store with no dock, the appointment inside the store's receiving hours and the limited access strip mall add nothing, and no fuel surcharge, cubic capacity rule or linear foot rule rerates it after delivery.

Book at the row's price, or put the store's ZIP in the quote box.

Adds on a legacy LTL tariff for the same delivery to a storefront with no dock: liftgate $75 to $246 minimum, limited access $85 to $204 flat or per hundredweight from $115, delivery appointment $11 to $61, plus a fuel surcharge on the base rate. On Warp every one of those is $0. The named carrier head to head for each lane is on its lane page.

Priced lanes from River Grove and the Chicago corridor

12 market cities, one pallet, all inclusive, as of September 16, 2026.

River Grove and the Chicago corridor is the Midwest hub, and it ships both directions: east to Newark and Philadelphia, south to Dallas and Houston, and across to Minneapolis, Columbus and Denver.

Same rule: the price on the row is the price on the invoice.

How a small format grocery receives freight

No dock, a back door, an owner who is also the cashier, and a window between deliveries.

Independent markets buy from many small regional distributors rather than one national one, so a store sees several trucks a week and none of them is a 53 ft trailer.

The rows below are what receiving at that store actually requires, and which of it the tariff charges for. On Warp the answer is none of it.

No dock
Strip mall storefronts receive at the front or the rear entrance or a roll up door. Carriers that serve them use liftgate equipped trucks to place the pallet at the entrance; on Warp the liftgate is standard on every 26 ft box truck and $0 on the tariff.
Window
The store sets a receiving window around opening hours and the other deliveries. The Warp delivery appointment is $0, booked against that window, and the driver calls ahead from the truck.
1 to 3 pallets
Replenishment is small and frequent: a pallet of rice and flour, a mixed pallet of spices and snacks, a third of frozen or shelf stable specialty lines. Each store books as its own shipment with its own bill of lading and proof of delivery photo.
Cash and carry
Many independents also buy at cash and carry wholesalers and haul it themselves. A priced pallet to the store is the alternative to a van run for the owner.
Many distributors
The category is fragmented: regional distributors with warehouses in Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, New Jersey and New York each cover a handful of states, which is why the lane tables above start at the hubs and fan out.
$0
Warp: liftgate, delivery appointment, limited access and residential delivery are $0 on the published LTL tariff (Version 1.2). Refrigerated and frozen lines quote as refrigerated freight, not as a dry pallet.

For the distributor: one account, every store its own shipment

A distributor's week is thirty stores in six states, and the freight bill is where the margin leaks: a liftgate line on every delivery, a limited access line on every strip mall, an appointment fee, and a reweigh on the rice pallet a month later.

On Warp each store books as its own shipment from one account, on a card or on net terms, with its own tracking link and proof of delivery photo, and the price on the row is the price on the invoice.

Recurring lanes can be saved and rebooked; the API and the free Warp TMS book them without the portal.

What Warp does not do at the store

Break the pallet down, stock shelves, carry cases inside past the door, or wait for a store that is not open: driver assist inside is a lumper line on the tariff, quoted before delivery, and the appointment window is the store's.

Warp does not carry what the tariff prohibits, and refrigerated or frozen lines ride as refrigerated freight, quoted as such.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to ship a pallet to an Indian grocery store?

$186.46 from Edison to Philadelphia, $214.29 from Edison to Detroit, $263.37 from Edison to Chicago, and $230.97 from River Grove to Columbus, one pallet, all inclusive, as of September 16, 2026.

Any other store prices in 10 seconds at the customer portal.

Liftgate, delivery appointment and limited access are $0 on Warp's published LTL tariff and the fuel surcharge is 0%, so the quoted price is the invoiced price.

Does Warp charge a liftgate or limited access fee at a strip mall grocery?

No. Liftgate, delivery appointment, limited access and residential delivery are $0 lines on the published LTL tariff.

Published legacy tariffs bill the liftgate at $75 to $246 minimum, a strip mall as limited access at $85 to $204 flat or per hundredweight from $115, and a delivery appointment at $11 to $61, on the same delivery.

Can a grocery distributor ship to many stores from one account?

Yes. Each store books as its own shipment with its own bill of lading, tracking link and proof of delivery, from one account on a card or on net terms.

Lanes you run every week can be saved and rebooked, and the API or the free Warp TMS books them without the portal.

Can Warp deliver frozen or refrigerated grocery lines?

Yes, as refrigerated freight, which is its own product on the tariff.

Quote frozen and chilled lines as refrigerated; dry lines (rice, flour, lentils, spices, snacks, shelf stable) ride as a dry pallet at the prices on this page.

24,000+vetted FTL carriers

Warp is a technology-driven freight network that combines cargo van, box truck, LTL, and FTL capacity under one operating system. Shippers get instant rates, real-time tracking, and access to 70+ cross-dock facilities and 14,000+ cargo vans and box trucks — with 80%+ US LTL zip-to-zip coverage and nationwide FTL, box truck, and cargo van.

The network is supported by 24,000+ vetted FTL carriers.

Unlike traditional brokers, Warp uses AI to match the right vehicle to every load based on weight, dimensions, urgency, and cost targets. Cross-dock operations reduce transit time by eliminating unnecessary terminal transfers.

Pool distribution and zone-skipping programs help enterprise shippers lower per-unit delivery costs while maintaining tight appointment windows.

Self-serve shippers can quote, compare, and book freight online in under two minutes. Enterprise accounts get dedicated capacity planning, committed rate programs, and a named operations team. Every shipment includes scan-level visibility from pickup through final delivery.

Warp operates across the contiguous United States with regional density in the Southeast, Texas, Midwest, and Northeast corridors, and West Coast and Southwest coverage from Los Angeles, Seattle and Phoenix.

Warp operates 70+ cross-dock facilities across the US, with named markets including Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, New York, Savannah, Orlando, Charlotte, Indianapolis, Columbus, Denver, New Orleans, Milwaukee, Dallas-Fort Worth, Nashville, Phoenix, Tampa Bay, Seattle, Los Angeles. LTLPer-palletShared trailerLower per-pallet cost via cross-dock routing
Dry van / FTL42,000+ lbsFull 53-ft trailerHigh-volume lanes, recurring programs

Cargo vans handle loads up to 3,500 pounds and 400 cubic feet, ideal for time-sensitive deliveries, last-mile retail replenishment, and lightweight palletized freight.

Box trucks carry up to 10,000 pounds and 1,500 cubic feet, fitting most regional distribution and store delivery needs without requiring a loading dock.

Dry vans and full truckloads move 42,000+ pounds for high-volume lanes and recurring programs. LTL shipments share trailer space on optimized routes through Warp cross-docks, reducing per-pallet cost by consolidating multiple shippers on the same vehicle.

Warp does not default every shipment to a 53-foot trailer. The AI engine evaluates load weight, cube, delivery window, and cost to recommend the right vehicle. Shippers see all available mode options with live pricing in one comparison screen before booking.

Cross-dock operations

Cross-docking at Warp facilities keeps freight moving instead of storing it: inbound freight is sorted and transferred directly to outbound vehicles, typically within hours. When inventory does need to sit, Warp's fulfillment centers in Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago and New Jersey hold it inside the same network, with same day delivery within 30 miles of each.

This reduces dwell time, lowers damage risk, and compresses delivery windows. Warp cross-docks support pallet-in, pallet-out operations with scan-level tracking at every handoff point.

  • Atlanta — Southeast retail flow
  • Chicago — Midwest manufacturing and replenishment
  • Houston — Texas industrial distribution
  • New York — dense Northeast delivery

Facility locations are selected for corridor density: Atlanta handles Southeast retail flow, Chicago serves Midwest manufacturing and replenishment, Houston covers Texas industrial distribution, and New York supports dense Northeast delivery. Each facility operates on appointment-based scheduling to prevent congestion and maintain throughput consistency.

Enterprise freight programs

Enterprise shippers get committed rate programs, dedicated account management, and custom SLA design. Warp builds lane-by-lane rate structures that account for volume commitments, seasonal variation, and mode flexibility. Operations teams monitor shipment execution daily and intervene proactively when exceptions occur.

Self-serve freight quoting

Shippers enter origin and destination, load details, and delivery requirements to see live rates across all available modes. Quotes include estimated transit time, vehicle type, and total cost.

Booking takes one click. After booking, shippers track every shipment with real-time GPS location, milestone updates, and proof of delivery documentation.

Industries and use cases

Retail shippers use Warp for store replenishment programs that deliver to hundreds of locations per week on tight appointment windows. Apparel brands use zone skipping to bypass regional parcel sortation and reduce per-unit delivery cost.

Food and beverage companies rely on time-definite delivery for perishable goods. Manufacturing operations use Warp for inbound vendor consolidation, combining multiple supplier shipments into fewer, fuller loads through cross-dock facilities.

Distribution companies use pool distribution to serve multiple delivery points from a single origin, splitting full truckloads at cross-docks into smaller last-mile vehicles.

Urgent freight recovery covers emergency capacity needs when primary carriers fail or demand spikes unexpectedly. Middle-mile optimization reduces cost and transit time on the longest segment of multi-leg shipments.
