Is Warp a freight broker?
Warp is licensed by the FMCSA as a property broker and freight forwarder, and runs the network itself: Warp LTL, our own carrier service, 70+ warehouses on our own software, and 38,000+ carriers on the Warp driver app or with a tracking integration. One counterparty. The contract, the claim and the operational risk sit with Warp. Beside our own service sits a marketplace of LTL, parcel, ocean, air, and drayage carriers, managed to performance and cost: Warp connects to their quoting, booking and tracking, meets with each carrier's team on the shipments you picked, and removes a carrier for performance only as a last resort, so the choice stays yours.
What does “open source freight” mean?
Open source means the tech is free and the network is open. Warp TMS, the freight API, the MCP server and CLI, integrations and scan events cost nothing. One portal and one API give you our own capacity, 38,000+ carriers, every one vetted, on our driver app or a tracking integration, and all 70+ warehouses on our warehouse tech, built up over 850K+ shipments and connected with a marketplace of 30 LTL carriers and multiple parcel, ocean and air carriers, and you mold it to your business: bring your own carriers, use a single service like Warp LTL, or let us run all of it. Warp LTL pays you back for helping build it: every pallet on a line makes the next one cheaper, and the savings go back to you. We believe supply chain technology should be free.
